This wedding was both unique and extra special for me. Not only is Candace one of my oldest friends, but she asked me to be a bridesmaid. So photographer and bridesmaid in one! Candace met Callum as a fourteen year old and became a love struck teenager! Their friendship lasted a short period of time and then life took them in different directions. Fast forward twenty odd years and two kids collectively and their paths crossed again. This time is was meant to be and Candace’s teenage crush turned out to be the love of her life. They chose a small, intimate beach wedding. Callum is a kite surfer so… Keep Reading
I met Anria and Logan for a cup of coffee before heading out to do an engagement session in Kalk Bay. I learnt what a whirl wind of life they are about to experience, a wedding and relocating overseas all in the space of a few weeks. They are so supportive of each other and are ready to face the future, it is so exciting.
I met Louise and Kyle about a year ago, we met up and chatted about their wedding day, we had coffee and chatted some more. When I left I knew this was going to be a wonderful wedding! Such a great couple, such welcoming people and just knowing that they were meant to be together, forever, as a family.
Kim and Riaan were married in February in Durbanville. They were blessed with the most amazing day, no wind, gorgeous cloudy skies and gorgeously warm. They have come along way together so their special day was the culmination of many years and some hard times. It was so special to see them come together and finally be husband and wife.
The 2019 Pantone Colour of the Year is Living Coral, what a pretty colour it is! One of my favorite Hair and Make-Up artists, Suzanne, asked me to be involved in a shoot showcasing this colour and I jumped at the chance. We picked Gordon’s Bay beach as our location and on the day the wind was howling. It made shooting a little more tricky but I just love the way the wind created movement in the gorgeous tulle of the dress, it was all just magical! I can’t wait to see the use of this colour in weddings in the coming year!
Genevieve and David were married in Elgin in December. One of my favourite places and one of my favorite months, I knew it was going to be a goodie!
I met Cindy-Lee and Leon in Hout Bay for a cold drink and a chat before heading out to the harbour for their engagement session. I loved listening to them excitedly talking about how they met and their wedding day. I felt like I had known them for years, they are both so warm and welcoming. They are so in love and I had such fun spending the afternoon with them. We ended the day off driving along Chapman’s Peak to enjoy the sunset.
When Gisele and Grant booked me for their wedding at De Uijlenes just outside Stanford, I was so excited as this is a venue I had been dying to shoot at. They told me they chose it so they could have a full weekend of celebrations with their friends and family. Grant’s birthday fell over the same weekend so they had two very special occasions to celebrate!
I had such a great afternoon with Xavier and his family as they all met at Waterford Wine Estate in Stellenbosch the afternoon of his Matric Farewell. There was a lot of excitement in the air as all the Matriculants arrived, greeted each other and saw what the other was wearing! The girls all looked so beautiful and the guys all so handsome. We did some fun photos of Xavier and his girlfriend, Kiara, as well as some family photos. Xavier’s mother loves to display photos at home of the families’ special occasions so I hope these will become well cherished memories for them all.
Siophan and Shane chose to get married in the middle of winter and were blessed with a day more gorgeous than most summer days! It was warm and clear with not a breathe of wind, just perfect! But the weather wasn’t the only perfect thing, Siophan was elegant and classic, Shane was dapper and suave and their hearts filled with love and excitement. It was one of those weddings I smile through from start to finish.
