Lee and I first me in the gym a few years ago. We haven’t seen each other in a while due to lock down restrictions. I was happily surprised to suddenly hear from her when she contacted me to do a family shoot for her and her family in law. She and her husband, Shaun, wanted to give Shaun’s parents the shoot as a gift.
Tayla and Friends | Cape Town | Portraits
Some shoots are just pure fun and this was definately one of them! Tayla and her friends decided to do a photoshoot to celebrate their 16th year. She sent me mood boards and location ideas and we settled on an urban feel before heading to the beach. The day turned out to be a very windy one but they took on the challenge head on. They kept each other warm with close hugs and helping each other tame their wind swept hair!
Vicky | Cape Town City | Bridal Portraits
As much as I enjoy photographing a complete wedding, getting to photograph just bridal portraits makes me very happy! It is a favourite part of the wedding day for me but is often rushed and restricted to one location.
Kelly | Durbanville Hills | Matric Dance
I have known Kelly since she was born so it was such an honor for me to shoot her Matric Dance. I can’t believe how time as flown! I remember her as a little girl dancing on stage at our year end shows 🙂 And now she is a gorgeous young lady with the kindest heart and an excitement for life. She is off on an amazing adventure next year diving into the world of fashion and I have no doubt that she will make a huge success of it.
The Rouxs | Groot Constantia | Family
I met up with Karin, Terry and baby Zack at Groot Constantia on a chilly day for some family photos. Zack is just the cutest little guy and he kept us laughing all the way through the shoot with his animated faces and his seeming refusal to smile! I am told he is the smiley-est chap normally but this day he decided otherwise! He did give us some sweet little grins though that I was lucky enough to catch.
Candace and Callum | Blouberg | Wedding
This beach wedding was both unique and extra special for me. Not only is Candace one of my oldest friends, but she asked me to be a bridesmaid. So photographer and bridesmaid in one! It was a whirlwind day for me but one which meant so much. Candace met Callum as a fourteen year old and became a love struck teenager! Their friendship lasted a short period of time and then life took them in different directions. Fast forward twenty odd years and two kids collectively and their paths crossed again. This time is was meant to be and Candace’s teenage crush turned out to be the love of her… Keep Reading
Anria and Logan | Kalk Bay | Engagement
I met Anria and Logan for a cup of coffee before heading out to do an engagement session in Kalk Bay. I learnt what a whirl wind of life they are about to experience, a wedding and relocating overseas all in the space of a few weeks. They are so supportive of each other and are ready to face the future, it is so exciting.
Louise and Kyle | Leipzig | Wedding
I met Louise and Kyle about a year ago, we met up and chatted about their Worcester wedding day, we had coffee and chatted some more. When I left I knew this was going to be a wonderful wedding! Such a great couple, such welcoming people and just knowing that they were meant to be together, forever, as a family. We met shortly after for an engagement shoot in Tokai which just reaffirmed my initial feelings!
Kim and Riaan | Pampoenkraal | Wedding
Kim and Riaan were married in February in Durbanville. They were blessed with the most amazing day, no wind, gorgeous cloudy skies and gorgeously warm. They have come along way together so their special day was the culmination of many years and some hard times. It was so special to see them come together and finally be husband and wife.
Living Coral
The 2019 Pantone Colour of the Year is Living Coral, what a pretty colour it is! One of my favorite Hair and Make-Up artists, Suzanne, asked me to be involved in a shoot showcasing this colour and I jumped at the chance. We picked Gordon’s Bay beach as our location and on the day the wind was howling. It made shooting a little more tricky but I just love the way the wind created movement in the gorgeous tulle of the dress, it was all just magical! I can’t wait to see the use of this colour in weddings in the coming year!
