I was so excited when Haylee booked me to shoot her and Michael’s wedding for so many reasons. One was that I had met this couple at previous weddings and they are awesome, and two was their choice of venue. I just love Old Mac Daddy in Elgin, it is such a cool unique venue and it suited this couple so well.
They made a weekend out of the occasion and spent the Friday night with friends and family. When I arrived on Saturday Haylee told me how miserable the weather had been the day before but they had the most gorgeous day for the wedding. Everyone was relaxed and calm and excited. Michael hung out with his Best Man and a glass of whiskey while the girls were happily buzzing around getting hair and make-up done and sharing champagne.
The ceremony took place on the lawn under glorious sunshine while Haylee and Michael’s son watched on as Mom and Dad said “I Do”. He is such a cutie and was so excited when he first saw Haylee in her dress.
After the ceremony the couple went off to have “Mr” & “Mrs” tattoos! I loved this! It was so cool and just so much a part of who they are.
The rest of the day was laughter and tequila! Haylee and Michael decided shots of tequila were better than glasses of champagne for toasts and I think I might just agree! The reception was a mixture of special moments, fits of laughter, love and dancing.
Thank you both for having me be a part of this day. I am so grateful I was there to witness and capture it all. Sending you so much love to you and your special families for now and forever.
