I met Kate and Rikus just over a year before their wedding, Kate contacted me for an engagement shoot and they brought their adorable doggies along! I loved spending the afternoon with them so when Kate asked me to shoot their wedding, I was so excited.They are both quiet people with big hearts and filled with kindness. They chose Monkey Valley as their venue and were married at the end of April as winter light started to descend on Cape Town (which is just the prettiest). It was such a lovely day, family close by and special friends on hand to share in the love and laughter.
Kate and Rikus chose a rich burgundy colour palette and proteas for their decor. It fitted so well with an Autumn wedding and everything looked so striking. Kate’s dress was loving made by her mother and she looked just perfect in it.
I really enjoyed being surrounded by such humble and loving people. I was made to feel so welcome by all their family and friends and it was just a day that I felt suited them so well.
Thank you both for your warm hearts and opening them to myself and Nadine. I see only magical things in your future and I know that it will be totally filled with love.
