It was a great occasion for me to be part of the marriage of Cheri and Jason. I have been lucky enough to shoot the weddings of a few of their friends so it was wonderful to see this group again.
They chose Buffelsfontein as their venue and I was treated to a welcoming giraffe as I drove into the reserve! The girls were gathered to prepare and were all full of excitement. Cheri kept telling me how excited she was and how she couldn’t believe she was getting to marry her best friend. It was so sweet to see her so happy.
The ceremony was conducted by a close friend which made it that much more special. Cheri cried as she came down the aisle and saw Jason waiting for her. They exchanged vows before being showered with popcorn confetti by very happy guests.
The rest of the day passed by in a blur of laughter and memories made. We were so lucky to have a perfectly overcast day which allowed us to take the most amazing photos on a long road in the reserve. I just love how the colours of these images worked so beautifully and romantically.
I was later told that the celebrations ran late into the night and I find that very easy to believe!
