Robyn and Gareth

Please forgive me if I ramble on a little with this post but I am so so excited to share these images!

I was so honored and lucky to spend a week with Robyn and Gareth and their closest family and friends in Thailand recently. This fun loving couple had visited Thailand in the past and fell in love with the country and its people. After starting to plan a Cape Town wedding, they decided that it was not what they truly wanted and that they would far rather be in Thailand with their family exchanging vows on the beach. And so they made it happen! The response from their friends was amazing and they ended up with 40 guests!

The days leading up to the wedding were spent seeing the sights and spending nights out on the town, lazing around the pool and drinking plenty of the local beer! I spent the night before the wedding with Robyn and her bridesmaids as they went to a local beauty salon to have their nails done. It was alot of fun as we struggled to translate to the locals what it was they wanted done!

The wedding day arrived and it was as warm as ever! Everything ran smoothly and Robyn got ready surrounded by her girls while Gareth had lunch with the boys. The wedding was held at the beautiful Joe’s Downstairs in Phuket with the ceremony just below their deck on the beach. Their vows were short and sweet (to try and get out of the heat!) and it was so wonderful to have the guests standing so close by as they said “I do”.

The reception was simple and no fuss, a wonderful tapas dinner served to each table followed by a few speeches and a first dance on the beach. A friend brought a blue tooth speaker along so Robyn and Gareth could dance to their song, Wonderwall by Oasis. It was such a break a from tradition in so many ways and was so true to this couples’ personalities! All in all it was a day that stayed true to who they are, a day that celebrated their love and showered them with all the best wishes for their future together (and a fair amount of vodka and Red Bull!)

Thank you to all of your friends and family for welcoming so wonderfully and making me feel so included in the events of the week. I am truly grateful and I wish you only happiness and love and laughter for now and forever. xx
